D'Lynda Fischer

dlyndaD'Lynda was born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska in 1959, the same year Alaska became a state. Her mom was also born and raised in Alaska and her maternal grandmother was elected to the first Alaska State Legislature. Several years later, she and her family survived The Good Friday or Great Alaska Earthquake that rocked Anchorage in 1964.

She left Alaska and graduated from a small private school in Sun Valley, Idaho, then went on to attend Boston University and the Fashion Institute of Technology in NYC. She has a Masters Degree in Urban Planning from USC.

Her first career was as an Urban Planning consultant working on local development projects. This all made sense given her mom is an attorney, and her father, a developer.

With the millennium came a move to the beach and a rediscovery of her love of cycling and the outdoors. Thinking that she needed an activity that would also help keep her bones strong, she added running to her list of things to do. Shopping for these activities, she experienced a gender bias, not in her favor.

She decided that Los Angeles needed a place for active women, where the salespeople understood their customers, cared about their needs, and had an assortment of quality products. SPORTS for EVE is the result.

Kirsten Bell

kirstenKirsten is a Culver City native who ventured into the world of triathlon as a way to take advantage of the beautiful climate and terrain of Southern California. In 2008, she moved back to Culver City after living in Japan for 15 years. During that time, she was involved in a climbing accident that left her with a severely broken tibia. The doctors told her she probably would never walk properly again, but after 4 months of physical therapy in the hospital, she walked out on two good legs. When it comes to triathlon, however, walking is not the issue, so when Kirsten started entertaining the idea of doing one, she was very nervous about running. She thus embarked on a Couch to 5K program and has not stopped running since. Having joined the SPORTS for EVE family in summer 2010, Kirsten is now leading the SPORTS for EVE Couch to 5K and loves seeing other women like her reach their personal fitness goals.

Sir Lawrence

sir lawrenceSir Lawrence is a model, greeter, product tester, and stress reducer. His favorite pastime, when not napping, is wandering and sniffing. Belly rubs are always welcome and he rolls onto his back freely in anticipation. We do not know where he hails from or his pedigree. He is scared of loud noises like gunshots and firecrackers and does not much like the slapping noise of a windshield wiper in the rain. He protects the women he works with and his bark is much bigger than his bite.
Favorite treats: anything protein based
